Tourist Discounts and Passes for Japan

I began writing this e-book with the intention of helping my fellow Japan lovers on their journey of experiencing Japan. I see time and time again the same question plastered all over the internet:

Do I need a Japan Rail Pass?

The answer is ‘No!’

The Japan Rail Pass is great for those of you travelling to 3 cities or more in Japan, but it still doesn’t cover you for public transport in each city.

I’ve collated every tourist pass, discount ticket, and free things to do in the major cities to help you get around and explore without paying the hefty price of a JR Pass.

I’ve used many of these passes to get either free or discount entry to places like Tokyo-Edo Museum, Tokyo Disneyland, Nijo Castle, Mount Fuji, Osaka’s Umeda Sky Building, Kaiyu Aquarium, Osaka Castle, Kobe’s Nunobiki Herb Garden, Hirosaki Castle and more.

My Tourist Discounts and Passes for Japan 2019 Guidebook includes discounts to the following cities:

  • Tokyo
  • Kyoto
  • Osaka
  • Yokohama
  • Mount Fuji
  • Kobe
  • Nara
  • Nikko
  • Hiroshima
  • Nagoya
  • Takayama
  • Sapporo
  • Tohoku

I want to help all my Japlanners out there who are going in 2019 with this complete guide for ALL the Discounts and Passes in Japan. I’ve scoured the internet and collated every single discount and pass I could find and have made a nifty little guidebook for you

Planning a trip to Japan in 2020?
